Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join the iCOMP Collaboration?

If your study is a randomised trial of alternative cord management strategies (e.g. cord milking, delayed cord clamping, physiological cord clamping, etc.) at preterm birth and you have not yet heard from the iCOMP Collaboration, please contact us via our contact form!

Where is the iCOMP collaboration based?

The iCOMP Collaboration data and project management centre is based at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, The University of Sydney, Australia. However, researchers all over the world are involved in the Collaboration, including the UK, Germany, USA, Israel, India, and many more!

How is the iCOMP collaboration funded?

The iCOMP Collaboration has received funding from Australia’s National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the UK’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

I am not a trialist, can I still receive updates?

Please feel free to contact the iCOMP Collaboration for updates, and we will keep you in the loop about major developments, such as results publications. However, unfortunately a subscription newsletter is not available at this time. You may also choose to explore our news page for updates and progress to date.

When will results be available?

Currently, the iCOMP Collaboration is still collecting, processing and combining data from all trialists able to provide data to the first cycle of analysis. This will take some time due to the large number of trials involved!

We anticipate we will be releasing results for the first cycle in 2023. Please contact us if you would like to be kept up to date on the iCOMP Collaboration.

Is the protocol available online?

The iCOMP Collaboration protocol has been published in BMJ Open (see here), and had previously been published as a pre-print on medRxiv. The protocol has also been registered with PROSPERO (CRD42019136640) and the ANZCTR (ACTRN12619001305112).

Will you publish the Statistical Analysis Plan?

The Statistical Analysis Plan has been finalised and timestamped on the Center for Open Science OSF (https://osf.io/). It is publicly available as supplementary material to our two companion papers published in The Lancet November 2023 and can be found here and here.

I am a member of the press and am interested in writing a piece on the iCOMP collaboration, how may I get in contact?

The iCOMP Collaboration is open to media enquiries - Collaboration members are world-leaders in neonatology, systematic review methodology, and in particular, cord management at preterm birth. Please feel free to use our contact form for any enquiries and a member of the Collaboration will get back to you as soon as possible.
